Noa Peer founded MeMeMe Press to solve a unique problem. Most books are about other people and other people’s families.
“Whether your family has two mums, a mum and a dad or maybe a grandma, four brothers and a cat, there should be a book just about them” explained Peer.
Written by award-winning writers Kate and Jol Temple, each MeMeMe Press book can be personalised to reflect a child’s family.
To create their custom book, customers visit MeMeMe Press’ website and enter basic details about the child the book is for. Behind the scene, a combination of custom-built code, APIs, open-source platforms, and a unique algorithm manages the smarts behind generative storytelling. Like magic, a one of a kind book is made, printed and posted to children in Australia, the UK, Europe, and the USA.
MeMeMe Press’s bespoke approach has garnered customers from all around the world.
“Kim Kardashian loved her personalised copy of the book so much she posted about it to her 140million fans!”
Peer considered Stripe, Paypal, and several smaller providers to process payments from their website. Peer was looking for an Australian based service with AUD as the main currency. The ability to service all major credit cards is a must, as well as the option to hold a multi-currency account. Peer was also looking for a partner with excellent client service and the ability to offer competitive transaction fees.
MeMeMe Press used Pin Payments’ APIs to integrate payment capabilities into their website. The Test API helps with their development and integration testing without creating real charges. Switching to the Live API was turn-key, which then allowed MeMeme Press to start processing real charges against their customers’ cards. By using the Hosted Fields interface, they ensured that the checkout experience seamlessly integrated with their existing web pages and styles.
“We were able to go out quickly to market as the API and testing process is all very well documented and easy to implement. We were also able to sell our product globally right from the start with Pin Payments’ multi-currency support (AUD, GBP, Euro, USD)” explained Peer.
“Pin Payments is our primary online payment processing platform in Australia. We use it to track our financials as well as customer service (for refunds if required). We are now working on fully integrating it with our accounting software.”
“Fantastic service! Excellent and super quick communication from a local team in Australia.”
