revolutioniseSPORT is an online, cloud-based, end-to-end platform for sporting and community organisations. Built to make managing sport simpler, the core of the platform is driven by player memberships and supports:

Founded in 2012, the organisation now serves 18,000 sporting clubs and 264 state and national sporting organisations—more than all other vendors within Australia combined. Their reach extends into New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, the Cook Islands, the United States of America, and across the Asia Pacific.
Helmed by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Alex Mednis, revolutioniseSPORT was created to simplify and remove painful (but necessary) tasks and paperwork, leaving volunteers and staff with more time to focus on the important things that make their sport thrive!
Problem: Multiple downstream operators cause payment processing delays
Sporting clubs sign up with revolutioniseSPORT for various reasons, though primarily to manage their club’s membership needs. A large aspect of that includes managing membership payments, which have traditionally been done offline using cash.
As an end-to-end platform, revolutioniseSPORT wanted to incorporate all the conveniences when onboarding clubs but faced these challenges:
- Slow club onboarding resulting from manual data processing of club information
- The absence of split-level payment disbursement, leads to complex downstream payment processing.
Sporting clubs typically take a single payment for memberships which then needs to be split between themselves and their parent organisations (for example, their association, state and national body).
Take for example a sporting club collecting $200. In the past, once a member signed up to play their sport, the club would manually send $150 to their association, and the association would in turn send $100 to their state body. The state body would then send $50 to the national body. With 150,000 members, relying on so many downstream operators can lead to mistakes, revenue loss from leakage, and delays in receiving payments.

Solution: API-driven solutions drive a low-touch onboarding process
Through Pin Payments’ Payments for Platforms solution, revolutioniseSPORT was able to fully customise their management platform to incorporate a streamlined onboarding process to enable payments.
The Hosted Fields feature enabled them to build secure payment acceptance onto their platform and gave them full control over designing a suitable payment experience for their clubs. Using Payouts, they implemented split payments to manage the sporting hierarchy of accounts.
