Matt O’Carroll is coreplus’s Product Owner. In his role, he champions the collective voices of coreplus’s customer community to support the ever changing requirements for modern healthcare providers and their clients.
Their payment challenges
Historically, coreplus’s customers transacted with their clients via onsite Points of Sale devices.
In March 2020, it was clear that coreplus needed to deliver an online payment solution in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic forced most of their customers to work remotely, accelerating the emerging Digital Health Practice concept.
“coreplus worked to deliver a telehealth platform that allows their customers to continue to provide healthcare services via Telehealth or itinerantly (Home Care or On-Premise). It was just as critical that health practitioners could continue to receive payments for the services they delivered to their clients. Payment scenarios vary from remote, pay in advance options or itinerant physically contactless payments”, explained O’Caroll.
“We initially invested time and effort to complete a proof of concept project with a payment provider known to us. However, it revealed that they would fall short of the solution we wanted to deliver to our customers.”
“We wanted a seamless onboarding experience for our customers, where they were in control of setting up their account with no intervention required from the coreplus teams. Our original vendor required the coreplus team to be the recipient of the API keys and then update the coreplus customer’s production account with the credentials manually. Pin Payments made this process super straightforward with their onboarding process.”
“We also wanted an integration solution that covered all the digital health models of care, including in-person, itinerant and remote service delivery. Naturally, the solution has to make sense to us, and we needed a price point that works for our growing network of customers.”
