Payment Pages

Pin Payments includes a ready–made secure payment page that makes it easy for customers to pay you, and the option for you to pass on the processing fees with an automatic surcharge.

In this guide

  1. Your Payment Page link
  2. Preset and custom fields
  3. Configure Surcharging
  1. Head to the Payment Page area of your dashboard.
  2. Copy your payment link
  3. Send the link to your customer over email, text message, or on an outgoing invoice.

By default your Payment Page allows your customer to specify the amount they pay. In many situations, you'll want to customise your payment page with a specific amount and description for customers.

Preset and custom fields

The Payment Page link can be customised with additional parameters, including amount, currency, and description. This gives you a simple way to make links to collect payment for specific items.

Standard fields

You can set any of these parameters from your Payment Page dashboard:

  • amount: value to charge
  • currency: currency to charge
  • description: description for the charge
  • success_url: redirect after successful charge
  • amount_editable: set to false to disable changes to the amount field

Custom fields

For more flexibility, you can specify up to three custom fields for your Payment Page. Custom field information is stored on the Charge metadata, and can be viewed on your dashboard.

  • field1label: the label displayed for the field
  • field1value: set a default value, or leave empty for your customer to complete

Once you’ve configured the fields for your payment page, you can copy the link and send it to your customers.

Pass on a surcharge

Another option when configuring your Payment Page link is to pass on the cost of processing the transaction to your customer as a surcharge.

If you enable this setting a surcharge will be added to the total amount your customer pays. The surcharge equals the exact amount of what your Pin Payments processing fees are for the transaction.

The result is that you receive the full amount of what the customer owes you when Pin Payments settles the funds to your bank account.

Add a Payment Button to Your Website

The easiest way to take secure payments on your website is to add a payment button.

The payment button guide covers customising the amount and description, then copying the resulting code into your website to add a button. Your customers can then click these buttons and enter their details to pay you.
